We have been regular visitors to this coffee shop during our trips to Denver for years, and it has typically been a pleasant experience—until this profoundly disappointing and unacceptable visit, which stands out as the worst by a wide margin. The interaction began poorly and escalated quickly into something far more troubling. As my husband attempted to place his order, the barista (a young woman) repeatedly interrupted him, talked over him, and ignored his presence entirely. She then laughed dismissively at his effort to order and turned directly to me, asking only for my order as though he were invisible. This came across as overtly sexist—prioritizing my input while deliberately sidelining his, in a clear display of gendered dismissal. When she still showed no sign of properly taking his order, I had to repeat it for him myself—only for her to brush it off with indifference and snap back at me that she “has his order.” Such blatant disregard for a customer, combined with defensive rudeness, is indefensible and reflects poorly on the establishment’s standards of service. While preparing the drinks, she repeatedly licked the top of her hand in an unhygienic grooming-like manner and made no attempt to wash her hands afterward, despite handling cups, lids, milk pitchers, and other surfaces that directly contacted our beverages. This complete lapse in basic hygiene standards is not merely careless—it is genuinely concerning. The drinks were equally subpar: weak, poorly balanced, and far below the usual quality here. Most outrageously, my husband’s flat white arrived only half full—an absurd and insulting portion for the price. We come here because it is close to our house when we visit and it is usually great coffee. We will for sure not go back and do not recommend someone going here.

𝙈𝙚𝙩𝙧𝙤𝙥𝙤𝙡𝙞𝙨 𝘾𝙤𝙛𝙛𝙚𝙚 is a wonderful coffee shop just around the corner! The modern interior features natural design elements, making the atmosphere warm and welcoming. It offers plenty of seating, including a cozy booth that I especially enjoy for its spacious and open feel. The coffee and pastry I tried were both excellent!

One of my favorite coffee shops in Denver! The drinks are really good, and the atmosphere is incredible. There’s plants EVERYWHERE, and plenty of seating whether you’re studying, hanging out with friends, or just enjoying a cup of coffee alone. Their espresso isn’t super bitter, and their specialty drinks are high quality tasting as well. The service here is also a solid 10/10

A delicious mocha and exquisite latte art in a place with plenty of natural light with a wall of tall windows. Yes, please! There was one seat available when I arrived, but that was perfect for me. I highly recommend Metropolis. I also really like the Metropolis coffee shop on Broadway; so I was pretty excited when I noticed this was also Metropolis.
