Mini Golf in Denver Is Better Than You'd Expect

5 FUN Mini Golf Courses in Denver That Anyone Will LOVE

I went into this expecting to write a pretty short article. Mini golf is mini golf, right? But after spending a few weekends hitting up courses around the Denver area, I came away with a more interesting list than I thought I would. There's a real range here — from a $5 municipal course tucked inside a rec center to a 24,000-square-foot tech-forward bar experience on Blake Street. Worth knowing what you're getting into before you drive somewhere.

PuttShack on Blake Street

This one is the flashiest option in Denver right now. PuttShack opened on Blake Street in RiNo and it's running on something called Trackaball technology — the ball itself tracks your shot, scores automatically, and unlocks bonus games at certain holes. Four separate courses, all custom-built, inside a space that feels more like a high-end bar than a golf course. And honestly that's kind of the point. You're not coming here for a quiet round of mini golf. You're coming here because it's a fun night out, the drinks are good, and the interactive scoring makes it more competitive than a standard course. The price reflects that — this isn't a cheap afternoon. If you're organizing something for a group, it works well because the format is designed for that kind of energy.

Adventure Golf in Westminster

The description I'd heard before going was "huge," and that's accurate. This is a full outdoor course with a lot more scale than you'd expect from a suburban mini golf setup. If you want a more traditional experience — windmills, obstacles, a little bit of sun — this is probably the most straightforward pick on the list. It's out in Westminster, so plan accordingly depending on where you're coming from, but it's worth the drive if you're already heading north.

Boondocks in Northglenn or Parker

Boondocks is a funplex — arcade, go-karts, bowling, laser tag, and mini golf all under one roof. There are two locations, one in Northglenn and one in Parker. If you have kids with you and you need to fill a few hours, this is a pretty reliable option because there's enough variety that nobody gets bored. The mini golf itself is solid but it's not the reason you go — it's part of a bigger package. The Parker location on Cottonwood Drive is a little newer if that matters to you.

Family Sports Center in Centennial

This one is operated by South Suburban Parks and Rec, which means the price is genuinely low — around $5 a round last I checked. The course is 18 holes and it's serviceable. Nothing is going to blow you away aesthetically, but it's well-maintained and the value is hard to argue with. It's also part of a bigger complex that includes an indoor playing field and twin ice sheets — the Avalanche actually practice here — so there's some fun context if you're hanging around. Good for a low-key weekday afternoon when you don't want to spend a lot.

Gateway Park Fun Center in Boulder

Technically a Boulder stop, but close enough that it fits in any Denver-area list. The course leans into a weird, whimsical vibe — pink elephants, purple gorillas, multicolored mushrooms — and the landscaping around it is surprisingly nice. It doesn't take itself seriously, which is kind of the appeal. Price is around $6.50 for adults, a little less for younger kids. If you're already making a trip up to Boulder, it's an easy add.

The quick summary: if you want a night out with drinks and some competition built in, PuttShack is the move. If you want a classic outdoor course, Adventure Golf in Westminster delivers. If you need to keep a group of different ages entertained, Boondocks has the most variety. And if you're watching your budget, the Family Sports Center in Centennial is hard to beat for $5. Denver doesn't have a single definitive mini golf spot, but between these five you've got options for pretty much any scenario.
