How I Ended Up on the Court at Ball Arena

Denver Nuggets season tickets got perks 🏀 #shorts #denver #nba

I've had Denver Nuggets season tickets for a while now, and the games themselves are obviously the main draw. But one thing I didn't fully appreciate going in was how much the off-court perks would end up being part of the experience. The Nuggets organization does a solid job of making season ticket members feel like they're part of something beyond just showing up and watching basketball. The annual events are a good example of that, and this year's holiday gathering at Ball Arena was probably the best one I've been to.

Playing on the Actual Court

The centerpiece this year was getting to actually play on the court for about an hour. That sounds low-key, but standing on the same floor where Nikola Jokic runs the offense hits different than I expected. The hardwood, the sight lines looking up at the seats, the way the arena feels when it's quiet — it's a genuinely cool experience that you don't get just by buying a regular ticket. Season ticket members and their guests were out there running around, shooting hoops, and just taking it all in. If you've ever watched a game from the stands and wondered what it looks like from down there, this is your answer.

The whole thing was relaxed and well-organized. It wasn't a structured event with strict rotations or anything like that. People were just out on the court doing their thing, which made it feel more like a reward and less like a corporate function. That's a balance that's easy to get wrong, and they got it right.

Rocky Is Still the Best Mascot in the NBA

The other part of the event was hanging out with Rocky, and I'll just say what I said in my video — Rocky is the best mascot in the NBA. The annual holiday picture is something I actually look forward to. It's one of those traditions that sounds a little corny when you describe it out loud, but in practice it's just fun. Rocky's good at what he does, and he brings a lot of energy to these events without making them feel forced or awkward.

If you've never interacted with Rocky outside of a game setting, the smaller event format is where he really shines. During a game, it's quick interactions in the stands. At something like this, there's more time to actually hang out, and it makes for a better photo and a better memory.

The Social Side of Season Tickets

Something I don't talk about enough is the community aspect of being a season ticket member. At this event, it was pretty easy to strike up conversations with other people who go to as many games as I do. There's a shared context there that makes it easy to connect. Downtown Denver has no shortage of places to grab a drink or a bite before or after something like this, and Ball Arena's location near the 16th Street Mall area makes it convenient to turn the whole night into something more than just the event itself.

That said, season tickets are a real financial commitment, and I wouldn't pretend otherwise. They make sense if you're actually going to the games and taking advantage of the member events. If you're planning to resell half the tickets and skip the perks, the math gets harder to justify.

Bottom Line

If you're on the fence about Nuggets season tickets, the game access is obviously the core value, but events like this one are a legitimate reason to factor them in. Playing on the court at Ball Arena and getting the holiday picture with Rocky isn't going to be the thing that makes or breaks your decision — but it's a nice reminder that the organization treats the people who show up regularly with some actual appreciation. For a team in the middle of a championship window, it's a pretty good time to be a season ticket holder in Denver.
