Denver gets a bad rap sometimes as a city that's better for adults — craft beer, hiking, all that. But honestly, there's a solid amount to do here with kids, and it holds up across every season. I put together this list specifically because winter and rainy days tend to trip people up. When the weather turns, parents start Googling and end up at the same three places everyone already knows. These spots go a little deeper than that.
FUN Family Things To Do In Denver With Kids (ALL YEAR ROUND!)

The Inventing Room
This one tends to surprise people. The Inventing Room is a dessert experience built around theatrical, over-the-top presentations — think edible science experiments and stuff kids genuinely react to out loud. It's not just an ice cream shop, which means it works better as an event than a quick stop. Worth looking at their website before you go since tickets are typically required.
Crane Games
If your kids are into arcade-style claw machines, Crane Games is a dedicated spot for exactly that. It sounds niche, but when you walk into a place that does one thing and does it well, the experience is usually better than a generic arcade with twenty different distractions. Good option if you're looking for something low-key that still feels like a destination rather than just killing time.
American Ninja Warrior Adventure Park
This is based on the TV show, and yes, it actually translates well to a real physical space. There are obstacle courses and climbing elements designed for different age and skill levels, so it's not just for older kids who can handle a full Warped Wall. If you've got a kid who cannot sit still, this is probably the first place I'd send you. Expect to burn a couple of hours minimum.
Bounce Empire
Bounce Empire is a large-scale inflatable park — trampolines, bounce houses, that whole category. What sets it apart from the random bounce place in a strip mall is the size and variety of what's inside. These types of spots have gotten a lot more sophisticated over the past few years, and Bounce Empire is on the larger end of what you'll find in the Denver area. Good for a wider age range than you might expect.
PuttShack
PuttShack is tech-forward mini golf, and it works for families but also skews a little older in terms of vibe — teenagers and adults tend to enjoy it just as much as younger kids, maybe more. The courses use automatic ball tracking so scoring takes care of itself, which removes the usual mini golf arguments about who cheated on hole seven. There's food and drinks available too, so parents aren't just standing around waiting. It's in a more polished, upscale-leaning environment, so it's a step up in price from a standard putt-putt outing, just to set expectations.
Mile High Stadium
The stadium tour here is something a lot of Denver families overlook because they associate the venue with just going to games. But the tour itself gives you behind-the-scenes access — locker rooms, the field, areas you don't normally see as a regular ticket holder. For sports-obsessed kids, or honestly just anyone who's curious about what goes on behind those doors, it's a pretty cool way to spend a couple of hours. Check the Colorado Sports Organization website for tour availability since it's not always running on the same schedule.
Snobahn
This is the one that caught my attention for the winter question specifically. Snobahn is an indoor ski and snowboard slope, which sounds like it shouldn't exist in Colorado — we have actual mountains — but the use case makes more sense when you think about it. Not everyone wants to drive to a resort, deal with lift lines, and figure out rentals for kids who might decide after twenty minutes that they're done. Snobahn is a lower-commitment way to introduce kids to skiing or snowboarding, or just let them mess around on snow without the full mountain production. It's also legitimately useful in summer when the resorts aren't running.
---
A few practical notes on this list as a whole: several of these spots benefit from booking ahead. The Inventing Room in particular seems to run on a reservation model, and Bounce Empire and PuttShack can get crowded on weekends and during school breaks. I'd check websites before showing up and assuming walk-ins are fine.
The geographic spread of these places is worth mentioning too. Denver is a decent-sized metro area, and not everything on this list is in the same part of town. If you're staying near the airport or in the southeast suburbs, some of these will be more convenient than others. A quick look at the map before you plan your day will save you from driving across the city twice.
For families visiting from out of town, I'd also flag that Denver's weather in winter can genuinely affect your plans. That's part of why I lean toward indoor options on a list like this — outdoor stuff is great when conditions cooperate, but having a backup plan built around places like these means a snow day doesn't derail the whole trip. Snobahn in particular is kind of a cheat code for that scenario: the weather outside becomes irrelevant.
If you're a Denver local reading this and you've got kids who've already cycled through the usual rotation of options, American Ninja Warrior Adventure Park and Crane Games are probably the freshest additions to try. They're not brand new to the city but they're still underutilized compared to how good they actually are.
The full video goes into more detail on each spot, and there's a link to save on travel if you're planning a Denver trip from out of state. But as a reference you can pull up on your phone while figuring out what to do with your family on a Tuesday afternoon in February, this list should cover you pretty well.
