This place is great! Me and my girlfriend have stayed here 2 different times. We love the history of this place and all the stories it has as well as it being in a great location with Charlie Browns being down the block to eat at. Chris the owner was a great person to talk to in the bar, he would answer any questions you had, or he’d just plain out talk about whatever and anything and really get into it! For an owner he’s not what I expected which is a good thing! If you can’t get along with him or you don’t like him, it says more about the other person than it does about him. It would be incredibly hard to dislike this guy! I think we’ve had both chefs the recent one we had was Brandon and (apologies I forgot the other chefs name.) but I recall the first time and this time we both ate breakfast here we basically cleaned the plate completely off, they have sweet and savory options each morning and they’ve never disappointed! For any crazy experiences we didn’t really have anything crazy aside from just old house noises, we did go up to the third story tower with a spirit box and it stopped flipping thru channels and started playing No Sleep Till Brooklyn by Beastie Boys clear as day which we couldn’t help but laugh. I’m more of a grunge guy myself but don’t discriminate whatever somebody (or something.) likes to listen to so hell yeah brother 😂. Edit- To add to this 12 Spirits Tavern is a great quiet bar attached to the hotel that is open to the public, if you want to get a drink and have a relaxed atmosphere. Loved hanging out in there!

When I looked up places to stay Patterson in n came up. When I called David was so helpful, upon arriving I was saddened to learn their smoking lounge was closed. This was one of the main reasons why I chose this place. We stayed in the Prague the first night, beautiful room, however it was freezing so much so we werent able to enjoy the claw tub, after speaking with front desk I was told I should have called the after hours number which I believe was the owner, after investing I guess we were supposed to turn on the ceiling fan to push warm air down as the room has tall ceilings. The second night we stayed in the Royale room, this room was also very beautiful, they left us two spaces heaters and extra blankets this time. It was very cozy in there. That night we heard music and a woman having a long conversation, next morning I did the research on the building in which guests have reported hearing same thing, we might have encountered a paranormal experience which was very exciting. The breakfast cooked by David was absolutely amazing! David is a key asset to the Inn. The building is very old and definitely needs a lot of work, the Royale room we stayed in has access to a porch, it was a little worrisome for there were stairs that led to the side of the building in which anyone can walk up, there was also a small hole in the door which can explain the cold drafts. You can see the building its self needs to be updated inside and out.. But has lots of potential. I will definitely stay there again after the improvements.

We had a terrible experience here and weren’t even able to spend the night. We had a late flight into Denver and wanted a cute hotel experience and booked a night here because it had great reviews and supposedly a great breakfast. We had communicated with them that we were getting in late (after 10pm) and they confirmed this would be ok. Once we arrived to the hotel we realized we had never been sent any information on how to actually get into the hotel. We could literally see an envelope with our last name right inside by the front door but there was no code or anything provided to let us inside. There was an after hours number on the door that said to call with any issues—-we called multiple times and no one picked up. We also called the phone number from our text confirmation and again, no one picked up. At this point it’s almost 11pm so we just decided to go stay at the Hilton around the corner which turned out to be fantastic. No one ever called us back that night and it wasn’t until the next morning that the manager finally called my fiancé. We were in a local café when he got the call and my fiancé told him calmly that we weren’t going to pay for the room since we didn’t use it and no one was able to help us last night. The manager responded “if you’re going to use sass I’m not going to give you a refund” ……he then admitted that someone messed up and should have been available via phone last night. He finally told us we had to call Expedia to get our money back since we booked with them and thankfully they were surprisingly efficient (and nice!) and we were able to get our refund. The customer service at The Patterson Inn was horrendous and would not recommend at all. Also, once we got there we realized we really didn’t like the location or the looks of the place so we were actually quite relieved to stay at somewhere more comfortable like the Hilton.

My husband and I stayed at the Royale. We had a fantastic time here overall, but the breakfasts were the highlight of our stay. Special shoutout to the talented chef Brandon who was able to accommodate our dietary preferences and prepared a total of 6 delicious vegan meals over the span of 3 mornings (one meal every morning for 2 people). We enjoyed every dish and cleaned our plates every time. The building itself is beautiful and charming, with stained glass windows and intricate woodwork throughout. The entire staff was friendly and welcoming. They also offered to hold our luggage on the last day after checkout. Thanks for helping make our first stay in Denver a great experience!
