This is such a cool unique project. Beautiful castle with cool narrow spiral staircases leading up to some amazing views. Super impressive and free to enter. We put $20 in the donation box to support the work. There’s a convenient snack/drink shop, gift shop, free axe throwing, chickens, goats, and horses. Some of the stairs are a bit sketchy and the bridge and associated tower move quite a bit in the wind. I think that all adds to the experience. The culture of safety we have constructed takes away a lot from the human experience. This is a sort of dangerous, amazing experience. If you’re careful, it seems plenty safe. I’m glad it exists. We decided to take home some eggs and they say honor system suggested min $3/half dozen $6/dozen. We put $10 in the box for half a dozen since we appreciated the free roaming chickens and the cool stamps on the eggs. We even held the chickens. It’s definitely a place you can return to and enjoy again. Some of people we talked to there had been coming for 30 years.

Bishop Castle is one of the most amazing places I’ve ever visited. You can tell the man behind this castle was driven by something powerful. The amount of hard work, creativity, and intelligence it took to build this entire castle mostly by himself is unbelievable. Much respect to a man with that kind of vision and determination. Every part of the castle is unique, beautiful, and full of character. Definitely a place everyone should see at least once in their life.

The most beautiful thing I've ever seen! Was it scary and a little scratchy? Absolutely! But it's crazy to think that some men just built all this with their hands. There were hummingbirds everywhere, and the chicken and goats are hilarious! Definitely worth to stop by for a couple hours and explore the whole thing!

Awesome adventure to visit. Very interesting place. The background about Jim Bishop and his family’s castle is good for everyone to know. Although very fun to explore and walk around, be aware the place does have hazards for kids. And a lot of the area is not handicap accessible. The Castle is a story of a principled man fighting for private property rights. In the end it’s a testament to winning against government overreach. There’s no charge to visit but donations are encouraged as work and additions are always ongoing. Recommend visiting and allowing at least an hour or two to explore. RIP Mr Bishop and thank you for an iconic place to come!
