For nature lovers, this is a really special spot. From the sound of rushing water to intermittent cries from children laughing and playing near the river bank on one side—you’ll almost feel as though you’ve escaped the city. But that’s half of the enjoyment too—the fact that the city is still around you on every side. Old brick buildings squat beside tall stately structures covered in silver that almost seem to touch the sun in their reach. The walk itself down to the river is full of striking street art, architectural bridges, and more. It’s also kid friendly—for those mamas who need to get out of the house with their little ones on a summery day. There’s a coffee shop located in the REI building located just off of the parking lot, and it’s the perfect stop for a refreshing drink and snacks, before making your way down the path to the water. Really worth checking out!

Easy trail to walk around the Denver Platte River. Plenty of parking alongside the park. Does have bugs later in the night however which was kind of annoying.

A really great in town place to relax and feel refreshed from the two rivers! Fishing is real and there are fish in there! Bathroom located across on the REI side.

This is a great city park. The Platte River / Cherry Creek Confluence is filled with nature trails that make a great escape from the urban hustle of downtown Denver. For long distance bike rides, this park interconnects with Cherry Creek Dam to the east; or travel south along the Platte River to Bear Creek or The Highline Canal Trail; or the Chatsworth Dam State Park. If you ride north, you can follow the banks of the Platte thru North Denver to arrive at The Platte River Trailhead Park. Don't forget your kayak. Enjoy. 👌
