Hey Kiddo! has a great energy and ambiance the moment you walk through the door. From the music, to the general buzz of a dozen conversations at tables, to the shaking of cocktails and the tossing of pans and the clinking of silverware and plates, the entire restaurant is immediately engaging and elevates the mood. The staff is all very friendly, informative, and attentive. We never had to ask for a thing, but we also didn't feel smothered by attention. They hit the perfect balance between being helpful and available with letting us enjoy our dinner without undue interruption. The food is AMAZING, I absolutely cannot say enough good things. Every single bite of every single dish was delicious. A bit of strategic advice: get the Milk Rolls so that you don't have to leave any of the tasty sauces behind when you finish a dish. There isn't a single thing on the menu that I would skip next time we visit. The cocktails are perfectly balanced to the style and class of the given drink. From sweet to savory to spirit forward cocktails, every one we had was unique, innovative, and delicious. We didn't get to visit the backroom bar this time, but we'll make a point of it next time. 10/10 - Will be back soon.

HeyKiddo has always been an establishment with beautiful ambiance, great service, and a few good bites. The consistent savory menu standouts after having been there three times are the chicken liver mousse toast, milk rolls, shaken rice and kimchi. These are always great to enjoy and share - balanced in flavor, not overtly salty, interesting textures and fun to try! It's fun to see what kimchi they have on rotation. Though they've changed from serving a kimchi assortment to just one type. (Unfortunate!) The fried chicken (their main centerpiece created in collaboration with Deuki Hong) is extremely crispy, and has a good batter. It does appear the chicken itself isn't brined, so it leaves flavor and moisture to be desired in a Korean style fried chicken. Still nice to try once, and the skin is enjoyable separately with their 3 housemade sauces. The galbi at the pricepoint is not amazing. Flavor wise it's fine, but you'll receive 4 pieces of basic kbbq galbi. I would recommend skipping it. Nothing to write home about. Their dessert is the star of the menu, and the main reason I come back! A red miso ice cream full set with all the toppings. It's a revelation with the creme brulee banana. If you're brave, they used to offer candied anchovies as a topping for that perfect addition of umami.

We ordered the “walk with us” & it was sensational! The service was wonderful and we were even able to chat with the chef. There were flavors and textures I never knew existed. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted absolutely delicious. We both left full and happy with the selection of appetizers and sides as well as the serving sizes for two. note the 22% service charge wasn’t disclosed prior to receiving the check… but if you aren’t able to tip you probably shouldn’t be eating out.
