First time here to play"old man" pick up lacrosse. This place is truly impressive with multiple areas for ice hockey (looks like 3 rinks) multi sport courts and small indoor turf. Plenty of parking and indoor space for spectators.

Upon coming here again, I have found the rental skates can actually be comfortable if put on and adjusted correctly. However the edges leave much to be desired. The inside edges in particular struggle to hold the ice and need more frequent sharpening. As far as rental skates go, this is expected but would be really nice if the blades were given more attention.

I can't say enough good things about the figure skating program at South Suburban! Gerry Lane and Bill Dobs are wonderful! Jeff and Liam rink managers and their crews at South Suburban rink and Family Sports are top notch! Love Sandy at the front desk at South Suburban and all the front desk people at Family Sport are always very courteous and helpful! And of course the behind the scenes folks that keep the establishments safe and clean are remarkable! Then the coaches!! The kind of talent that is through the figure skating program here is bar none! Our personal coaches Kristen Adamczyk and Jenny Gee are wonderful with the kids and we see growth in their abilities after every lesson without a doubt! The Learn to Skate program offers students and parents an opportunity to try out skating, learn from the experts and find a coach they can keep using to train their kids in private lessons! We are so excited to see the rink opening next week back to all skaters on private and public ice times! Here is to a fun and safe reopen!! Blessings to all!!

Today we took our visiting granddaughters ice skating in Rink 1. About 1:00 o’clock Grandpa took quite the spill and hit his head so hard he split the skin open at the back of his skull and required 7 staples. MOST IMPRESSIVE was the immediate attention he received from the South Suburban employees! They were all over the accident within seconds. Their obvious concern was so comforting and their professional demeanor provided a sense of security and allowed me to be calm and to keep the granddaughters calm as well. I did not get their names but they were AWESOME! Thank you so much for your help today!!
