Extremely disappointed with our experience at Henry’s. We had reservations for four and were seated promptly, which was a great start. Unfortunately, the food and service quickly went downhill. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich, and it was very dry and hard. The portion of chicken was extremely small — more like a single grilled chicken tender on bread than an actual sandwich. My alcoholic beverage also arrived with black particles floating in it. When I brought it to the waiter’s attention, I was told it was from a “pepper drink” that I didn’t order but somehow ended up in mine. It didn’t look like spice — it honestly looked like debris in the glass, which was very off-putting. My in-law ordered the nachos, and the chips were completely covered in heavy seasoning. He’s diabetic and couldn’t finish them because of how overly seasoned they were. My wife ordered French fries, and they were also coated in seasoning to the point that she couldn’t finish hers either. The service was also confusing and unorganized. Before we even ordered, the female server specifically asked if we wanted two separate checks. We confirmed yes, and she even wrote it down. However, she disappeared midway through our meal and a different waiter began assisting us without explanation. When the bill came, it was brought as one single check — the exact opposite of what we had requested. It was frustrating, especially after she had already confirmed and noted our request. To make things more awkward, she reappeared when it was time to pay and collect the tip. Overall, the experience did not match the price point. I wouldn’t recommend Henry’s and won’t be returning.

One Star – Great Food, Abysmal Service If I could rate the food alone, Henry’s Tavern in Denver would get a solid 5 stars. The flavors, presentation, and overall quality of the dishes were genuinely impressive. Unfortunately, everything else about the experience fell completely flat—and the service was so bad it overshadowed the meal entirely. We were seated in a booth shortly after arriving, and right away the host informed us that we could not get happy hour pricing if we sat there. That set the tone. We weren’t asking for anything special—just a table to enjoy some drinks and a meal—but it was strange that they wouldn’t let us sit in the back tables and then penalized us for where they sat us. From there, the service spiraled downhill. It took 12 minutes—yes, we timed it—just to get water after we sat down. And that was with only one server working our section, who had just three tables. In a nearly empty dining room, that’s ridiculous. We were barely acknowledged, and it felt like we had to wave our arms just to get basic attention. Ordering was slow, drink refills were basically nonexistent unless we asked (and sometimes even then they didn’t come promptly), and when it was time to leave, getting our check was another test of patience. It took far too long to flag someone down, and even longer for the check to arrive. Clearing the table? Same story. At one point it felt like they’d forgotten we existed. I understand that sometimes restaurants are short-staffed, but this wasn’t that. The server wasn’t slammed with a large section, and there didn’t seem to be any sense of urgency or hospitality. It was more like we were inconveniencing them by being there. It’s such a shame, because the kitchen is clearly doing great work. The food truly deserves recognition—it was the one bright spot of the entire experience. But a restaurant is more than just food. Service, attentiveness, and basic respect for the guest’s time matter just as much, and here, all of that was missing. Bottom line: I won’t be back. I can’t justify spending money at a place that delivers this level of service, no matter how good the food is. There are plenty of restaurants in Denver that can serve up great meals and treat their guests well. Sadly, Henry’s Tavern is not one of them.

Decent Spot, Nothing Extraordinary Visited Henry's Tavern last weekend, and it was a mixed experience. The place has a slightly upscale vibe with its bar-focused menu, but it still feels like a casual tavern. The food was average—my burger was cooked fine but lacked any standout flavors, and the sides were just okay. My wife had the seared tuna, as pictured, which was decent but not particularly memorable. Nothing bad, but nothing that wowed us either. The staff was a highlight; they were attentive and checked in regularly, which made the service feel polished. The atmosphere was alright—lively enough for a bar, but the decor and music didn’t leave much of an impression. I’d probably come back for drinks with friends, but I wouldn’t go out of my way for the food.

I stopped in for a late lunch during Henry's happy hour. The person working the check in table asked if I'd be happy sitting at the bar, and I was considering I was there alone. I sat at the bar and it took awhile before the bartender got to me and despite not many people being there, he looked overwhelmed. I ordered a beer and wings. The food came out fairly quickly and the wings were amazing. They were big, cooked just right, and I was impressed. When I got my check, I had been charged full price for the wings instead of the happy hour price, so I asked for it to be corrected. The bartender apologized and made the correction. Overall, I think Henry's would be a fun place to visit with friends, they have shuffleboard, and other games and the venue is really big so I imagine it gets pretty busy during sporting events and on weekends. Overall, as a daytime visit, I wasn't overly impressed, but I wasn't disappointed either. 4 stars because I see the potential of the place and think I may have just visited at an odd time. I love that they are able to pull up the sides of the building so people can sit at tables inside but still be completely open to the outside. Location is perfect for people watch.
