Okay decided I want some snacks/small plates and a drink and went to Senor Bear on a whim not knowing anything about the background or what type of place it was and while I’m not disappointed I can’t say it’s 5 stars. I’d give it a 4.3 or a 4.5 overall. I had the rice nigiri which was pretty solid, for 9$ you get 2 pieces but for nigiri I was expecting more..: nigiri and less fried rice. The rice was fried and good, but took away from what could have been a good combination of complex flavors. Then I got the papaya and that was a good blend of sweet with a SLIGHT hint of spice at the end that stays on your tongue. I’ll say the food was good but not sure if I found it worth it the price point. Had to get a digestivo so I got the Mini Negroni and well…. If you like mezcal and you like Negroni you’ll like this. No complaints it was exactly what I expected. Overall, this is a nice date spot or a special occasion place when it’s not happy hour. When it’s not happy hour I’m not sure I’d casually walk in but happy hour has much more reasonable prices. Overall this is a solid place, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed but I’m not sure I can say I’d give it 5 stars for the price I paid. It is cool they include 20% on every bill too make sure the staff gets paid so can’t be mad about it that. Overall good spot but not somewhere I’d go casually unless it’s happy hour

Been wanting to try the Oso sister restaurant for a bit! Super cute place and crazy easy to get a reservation on a Sunday night. A little bit pricier than Oso but the dishes were def more upscale. More of a Latin influence. Margs were great! Ceviche was good too but not as good as Oso. We shared the tostada dip which was decent. For entree we got Caesar and shared the steak. The Caesar was delicious and loved how creamy and chopped it is. Steak was cooked well too. Could've gone w more chimichurri and the portions were pretty small. Finished with tres leches and that was delicious!! Was a good meal but not that impressive for the price. I prefer Oso!

The service was great. Shaina was knowledgeable and had suggestions and accommodations for those with nut allergies, lactose intolerance, and vegetarians all of which were in our party. The horchata was a 11/10!! it was not like Horchata I’ve ever had. It was made with coconut milk or cream and toasted coconut on top. The second one we got had rum in it and we should not have done that. It’s way better without the rum. Papaya/mango app 8/10 Burrata & corn with plantain chips 10/10 Coconut rice 7/10 Tomato & avocado salad-6/10. The tomatoes themselves were perfectly ripe and delicious. The avocado purée was lacking Papas(loaded fingerlings)-7.5/10 We were cruising along great, and then the entrées came. Four of us ordered the picanha with the chimichurri sauce. And all four of us were highly disappointed. I would give it a 3/10. The french fries that came with it 9/10. Garlic aioli-6/10 tasted too much like mayonnaise The chimichurri sauce 7.5/10 The picanha 1/10. It was so grisly and hard to cut and hard too chew, that after sawing off three bites I was too frustrated and disappointed to eat anymore. For $50, this should have been at least a 7/10. I would go back for the horchata and apps and shareable, but not for the entrees.

I can only speak to the happy hour, which is wonderful. The little tacos are absolutely delicious, as is the queso, and the drinks are tasty and a good price for the happy hour specials. If you’re looking for a happy hour in the area, this is a great one!
