Proto’s is a true Denver classic as it has been open for over two decades and still turning out some yummy pizza. The food is thoughtful and detail-oriented, from the perfectly crisp dough to the housemade desserts. Favorites included the Savory Panini, the Hula Pie with fresh pineapple and ham, and the Aunt Phil espresso with Sambuca. The tiramisu and cannoli were excellent too. Warm service, great wine list, and approachable pricing make Proto’s one of those rare spots that feels timeless.

After a crazed day filled with a mass of humanity at the aquarium, we ditched the 30 minute wait at the aquarium restaurant, and sought out a nearby place to get pizza. What a welcome delight it was to find Pronto. Easy parking in the close by REI lot for free (under 60 minutes). No wait. Very welcoming and attentive. Food was great, prices reasonable, beer and ciders ice cold. If us suburbanites happen to be back in this hood, we'll be back. Thank you for rescuing us from the aquarium madhouse.

Every visit reminds me why it is considered one of the best pizza spots around. The flavors never disappoint and it is always a pleasure to come back.
