This place was alright. It could be clearer regarding whether specific dishes are fine to order for yourself or if they are supposed to be shared. The group I was with was a little confused. Food was pretty decent overall but some in the group claimed it was among their favorite dim sum in the Denver metro and it wasn’t for me.

We visited on Christmas Day, and the restaurant was understandably very busy. There were about 10 parties ahead of my wife and me and once seated, it took about 10 minutes to receive our drinks, which we understood given the volume of guests and large parties. After receiving our hot tea and iced water, we waited over 20 minutes (timed) before being able to place our entrée order. We also noticed that some parties who were seated after us received their food before we did. It’s worth mentioning that my wife and I are not from here and this was our first time at Star Kitchen, so we weren’t familiar with the style of service. It seemed that all staff assisted all tables rather than having assigned servers, so it’s possible we should have reached out sooner. That said, the food was incredible. It was our first time trying dishes like jellyfish, duck, and frog legs, and everything was surprisingly delicious and very well prepared. Despite the wait and confusion with service, the food truly stood out. If given the chance, I would definitely stop by again.

A fantastic authentic Chinese Dim Sum experience! This place is the real deal. Bring a bunch of friends so you can try everything. Sit down with your group and order freshly made dim sum from the revolving carts! Sooo good. Great portions. This was my first time, but the folks that brought me here had me prepared for a wait.

I’ve been meaning to try out this spot for the longest time and finally got around to it—twice in the past week. Everything I’ve had here so far has been amazing, the service is quite friendly, the place is always packed, even on weekdays at lunch. Among the best traditional (or really any) dim sum I’ve had and I’ve been to spots in San Francisco’s Chinatown. It holds its own for sure. Potstickers, chow mein, char siu ribs, taro buns, xiao long bao, Chinese cucumber salad, salt and pepper smelt, stir fried cheung fun, stuffed cheung fun…can’t go wrong (can’t wait to try the roast duck, turnip cake, etc)! This will now be a regular spot for me. What a gem. Get your behind over here if you haven’t already!
