Great spot to go check out a movie in the park. Haven’t gotten here for a picnic, but it would be something that I would love to do believe there is a community garden nearby and still great views near Spear Avenue. Definitely a cute spot. Make sure you’re doing somebug repellent if you are prone to getting bugs on you but a great place to watch the sunset overall.

Mixed feelings about location as a venue. The festival itself was Amazing! All of the bands were excellent. Minimal shade, no umbrellas or spray sunscreen allowed. I get extremely overheated quickly and normally use my UV protection umbrella but was not allowed to take it in. The entrance is located in the Performing Arts complex near the Boettcher Hall. We looked and googled in advance to find out what we could take into the venue and it would be nice if that information was easily accessible. Parking was $15. I am so glad they had water stations but there was at least one point when it was empty and we had to wait. We were sunburned and had heat exhaustion. I was told the umbrella is a visual obstruction… as a short person, not necessarily true… my 6ft son is more of a visual obstruction. The staff were great, professional and friendly.

The concert was kick @$$, the venue was a beautiful backdrop for it all, but the most notable thing was the staff. All of the staff was so kind and happy and talkative! It made for an extra special experience. The staff truly went above and beyond, especially for a ska festival, to make it a fun and welcoming experience!! I hope there will be more outdoor events at the sculpture garden in the near future!
