NBA game night calls for a great pre-game meal, and Denver ChopHouse & Brewery was the perfect stop. We enjoyed a fantastic spread of steak, lamb, braised pork, and fresh fish—every dish hearty and satisfying. Even the kids’ meals were surprisingly delicious. Located in a historic building in downtown Denver, Denver ChopHouse & Brewery is known for its classic American steakhouse menu paired with house-brewed beers, making it a favorite gathering spot before a game or a night out in the city. And of course, a cold local beer was the perfect way to kick off a great NBA evening.

I will give credit where credit is due. Our server was great. He gave us lots of recommendations & was quick and friendly. The atmosphere was nice, cool building. The French onion soup & jalapeño cornbread were tasty, but the steaks left much to be desired which is disappointing for a steakhouse. We ordered the NY strip & the filet mignon, both medium rare. They came out medium well and dry. The shaved Brussels were dry as well. As a chophouse, the standard for steaks should be higher, especially at those prices. I won’t be back, but I’m glad I gave it a try!

If you’re in the mood for classic steakhouse excellence in Denver, Denver Chop House delivers in spades. From start to finish, the experience feels timeless, refined, and thoroughly satisfying. The ambiance is warm and elegant — rich wood tones, leather seating, soft lighting — it evokes a sense of tradition done right. Whether you’re there for a special occasion or a night out, it feels elevated without feeling stuffy. The menu leans into what they do best: prime cuts of beef, expertly cooked and beautifully presented. Every steak (from filet to ribeye) arrives juicy, seasoned well, and cooked precisely to your preference. Alongside the steaks, sides and accompaniments hold their own — think creamy mashed potatoes, crisp vegetables, and indulgent sauces that enhance without overpowering. The appetizers (like oysters, shrimp cocktail, or carpaccio) set a high bar. Don’t skip dessert — the classics (cheesecake, crème brûlée, chocolate cake) are executed with confidence. Service here is attentive and professional. Your server is knowledgeable about cuts, cooking levels, and wine pairings, and makes the experience flow smoothly from drink to appetizer to entrée. Wine and cocktail options are strong — a well-curated list that complements the meat-forward menu. All in all, Denver Chop House offers an outstanding steakhouse experience in the heart of the city. If you love great beef, classic sides, and a polished yet comfortable atmosphere, this is a go-to spot I’ll happily recommend.

Ambience? Great! Food? Not so great. Lamb chops lacked flavor. Steak was ordered medium but came out well done. Took them about 20 minutes to replace the steak but by then the rest of the table had finished eating. $62 for those plates.. not worth it. The burger might have saved this review from getting a 1 star rating.
