When I'm craving Japanese food that goes outside of your typical sushi or hibachi place, I always think of Domo. Their dishes are delicious and packed with flavor. I've been more than satisfied with every single dish I've tried so far. The atmosphere and ambiance is very serene and almost makes you feel like you're not in Denver anymore. There's indoor and outdoor seating available. Their parking lot is small, but there's plenty of street options available. The service is friendly but rather on the inattentive side. I wish they checked in on us more the past few times I've been, but overall I've had very pleasant experiences at Domo.

This place has HIGH potential. We decided to come eat here after leaving the Denver Aquarium and it was disappointing for us. Don’t get me wrong. The place is beautiful, the staff are very friendly, the food looked amazing and smelled fantastic but it took a turn. It took 35 minutes for us to be seated which we have them the benefit of the doubt as it was busy (just large party’s). We sat down and it took them 25 minutes to come to us for ordering food and getting drinks! At least get us drinks while waiting or something. The food didn’t take long, we would say maybe 10-12 minutes. The katsu curry was disappointing, it tasted like curry blocks with a spicy seasoning. I would say the OKOGE was actually pretty good! We were only checked in on once while dining there and the staff seemed annoyed when asking for napkins, more water, and another refill on drinks. I think they CAN do better and one day we will be back to try them again

There is something to be said about the quality of the food when you take a single bite and find yourself in a state of pleasant shock. The kiritanpo with tanyu and pork was absolutely amazing and quite possibly the most beautiful-tasting dish I have had in a very long time. From that single, and quite possibly fated, first bite, I found myself unable to stop talking about how delicious it was. I give Gaku Homma a 10/10, 5/5, and any other perfect score imaginable for this dish. All that said, reviewing Domo simply on its culinary merit does not seem like enough. While browsing the lovely Japanese garden, my wife and I discovered that Gaku Homma is not only the head chef and owner, but also the founder and sensei of Nippon Kan, the Aikido dojo attached to the restaurant. And if that weren't enough, he is also the founder of A.H.A.N. (Aikido Humanitarian Activist Network). It’s rare to find a place that feeds both the body and the soul so completely; Domo isn't just a restaurant, it’s a testament to a life well-lived I will most definitely be returning, and I will be bringing friends.

The flavor of the food was great. Savory and really satisfying. We got the dipping noodles with soy based soup and chicken. The soy based soup was amazing! The curry was great as well but honestly the dipping noodle with soy based soup took the show! We also got the Ja-Tacos which were very good but again the dipping noodle took the show. The soda is in 12 once cans.
