Rooms are beautifully decorated and vintage with real character and personality that guests find worth returning for Convenient location near the Fillmore and Ogden theaters for entertainment-focused trips Check-in process is smooth and staff will go the extra mile when present, like offering a space heater proactively
No on-property parking—you'll need to street park, sometimes several blocks away, which isn't clearly advertised upfront Minimal or no staff on-site after 4 PM for check-in help, questions, or emergencies, creating an eerie, abandoned feeling Cleanliness is inconsistent with reports of beads on floors, unwashed bathroom sinks with previous guests' toothpaste, and dingy bedspreads Room security concerns: doors lack interior-only locks like bolts or chains, leaving guests feeling vulnerable Heating system is unreliable and difficult to operate, with no extra blankets provided when it fails Location is in a sketchy neighborhood near a bus stop

I stayed here two years ago and it was awful. There is no on property parking and this wasn’t advertised to me before hand. I had to street park three blocks away and shlep my stuff through the snow. I didn’t even know hotels without parking existed so it never occurred to me to ask if there was parking. Check in is after four but staff leaves around then or before then so there’s no staff to help you check in, answer questions or fix any problems you might have. This also gives the hotel an eerie sad lonely feeling. Also the rooms use a key code with a code that gets text to you which is fine. The problem is there is no bolt lock nor chain nor anything that could ONLY unlock from inside the room so you feel pretty vulnerable. I put a chair against my door. I found a crack pipe in my room and I was terrified of complaining to the hotel about it for fear I’d be accused of bringing it in myself. I threw it away in a dumpster blocks away because they might have found it when I left and accused me. The person on the phone said I would get a refund if I left. I left and did not stay the remainder of the nights I paid for. I didn’t even get refunded the nights I paid for but weren’t there for like the guy told me. Protect your sanity and your mental health and avoid avoid avoid.

This hotel was such a pleasant surprise. I originally booked it because the rooms are so vintage and gorgeous. When we arrived I thought the outside was to die for. Location is a little bit sketchy but they can’t fix that. And the room was sooooooo gorgeous!!!! It was worth every penny and it’s going to be our new tradition to stay there every year. Thanks Holiday Chalet 🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼

Nice kitchen. Bed room big with 2 beds. Little sitting area. Very quaint. Bathroom nice size. Unfortunately very drab and needs to be freshened up and cleaned. Beads all over room. Kept stepping on them. Bathroom sink with toothpaste still in it from previous guests. Bedspread needs to be cleaned or use some brightner very drab. Area rug needs to be cleaned. Heat... went off around 2 am. Unable to get the heat back on. So it was cold in there, no extra blankets. Outside the front windows is the bus stop.

This is my 3rd stay here, so that says something! I have stayed in 3 different rooms, and this was the coolest yet! The character and uniqueness of this place are incredible!! Such amazing vibes. Only complaint with the Albert Suite was that we couldn't figure out how to get the heater to work, so my husband was freezing. But maybe we're just dumb..it was absolutely beautiful 😍 It's not for everyone, but it's for me! The location is very convenient to both the Fillmore and the Ogden theaters, which is part of the reason we stayed the first time. I will absolutely be back again the next time we go to a show!
