Absolutely Exceptional Service – Julia Is Management Material I had one of the best hotel experiences I’ve had in a long time thanks to Julia at the front desk of the Courtyard Marriott Southwest Denver / Lakewood location. From the moment I arrived—in the middle of a snowstorm—Julia was calm, professional, and genuinely welcoming. She also arranged an early check-in, which was hugely appreciated given the weather and travel conditions. She handled everything seamlessly, anticipated needs before I even had to ask, and treated me like a valued guest rather than just another reservation. What truly set her apart was her excellent judgment and customer-first mindset. Due to the weather and a temporary delay in my funds transferring, Julia worked with me by accepting the amount I had available at check-in and placing the remaining balance securely on my account to be settled before checkout. She handled this with complete professionalism and discretion, turning what could have been a stressful situation into a smooth and easy experience. As it turned out, once I got to my room the transfer completed almost immediately, and I paid the remaining balance right away, well before the next day. Julia’s flexibility, trust, and confidence made all the difference. Her composure, communication skills, and ability to make smart, guest-focused decisions under pressure are exactly what great hospitality looks like. Julia is clearly management material, and Marriott should be proud to have her representing their brand. If you’re staying at this location, you’re in excellent hands if Julia is working the desk. She truly sets the standard.

The room layout was fantastic. However, the mini fridge didn't work and the TV didn't work. I don't really care about the TV but I couldn't watch the national championship game on the big screen. Again, didn't really care. But the fridge not working was a bummer. The price of the room was great so I didn't even file a complaint with the hotel. Off of a frontage road so a little wonky to get to, but lots of good restaurants around and in a secluded area so the only real noise was the traffic.

After a terrible experience at Sheraton Denver West a week ago, we decided to try the Courtyard by Marriott Denver Southwest/Lakewood on this trip to visit our son. While the hotel is decent, the sliding glass door in our room was so poorly sealed that it sounded like an open window where we could hear every single car driving by on the roadway nextdoor. It resulted in two nights of terrible sleep! We also had a very loose handle in the inside of the shower that they fixed after we brought it to their attention. The worst part was that we returned late on Sunday night after all the football games only to find that they had not serviced our room! I tried to call the Front Desk only to learn that their in-room phone doesn’t work! So, I went to the Front Desk to ask why they didn’t service our room and they told me that you have to be there for 3 days before they service the room!! What?? I asked if this was a Marriott Policy or a Franchisee Policy and he said it was a Franchisee Policy!! He gave me fresh towels, but then we realized after we were already in bed, that they did NOT replenish the coffee supplies!! So, my wife called the Front Desk from her cell phone and asked for coffee supplies. Initially, she was told they could not bring them to us, but we explained that we were already in bed, so he acquiesced and brought them to us. This was NOT the experience we expected from MARRIOTT, so we will not be using MARRIOTT again anytime soon! You can’t keep claiming COVID five years later as an excuse to NOT service hotel rooms on a daily basis!!

I stay here every year when I have a conference in Denver. The rooms and amenities are always nice. They also have a great little bistro that's open almost all the time it seems. The staff here is some of the best people, so kind and caring. They really make your stay!
