I went on opening day and the service and turn out were very good! Lots of options to choose from! I ended up choosing their premium AYCE menu. Unlike many other restaurants they allowed 20 orders of sashimi and 20 orders of premium nigiri per person, quite a lot! All their sushi felt like it was good quality and wasn’t too packed with rice. Service was quick and my server was on top of it. Would recommend to stop by and give it a try, I think it is definitely one of the better AYCE sushi options in the area. I’ll definitely stop by again!

Kinoya Sushi & Izakaya is the current king of all you can eat sushi in Denver. My friend and I went for dinner and the dining room was maybe one quarter full. it should be much more full. We both got the premium AYCE option, $53 per person at the time of this review. That tier gets you up to 20 pieces of premium nigiri or sashimi per round, and the list actually includes ikura, wagyu beef, amaebi, kampachi, scallops, king salmon, toro, and madai. Read that again: 20 pieces of toro, fatty tuna, on an all you can eat menu. Most places ration toro like it's a controlled substance. Kinoya just hands it over. The cuts themselves aren't big, and the rice to fish ratio leans heavier on rice than it should. That's a real flaw, since rice is half of what you're paying for on a nigiri plate. That said, the rice here still beats what you'll get at Sushi Katsu, Chubby Fish, or any other AYCE spot in Denver. That's not saying much. Kinoya clears that bar easily and still has plenty of room to get better. Everything off the non-fish menu was good too. The beef short ribs are more bone than meat, but there's no limit on how many rounds you can order, so it evens out. The sushi tasting plates were the real standout of the night, worth maxing out all five allotted servings. Beyond that there's soup, ramen, rice bowls, vegetarian options, tempura, and a small run of dim sum, so nobody at the table gets stuck. Does Kinoya deserve five stars? No. The rice needs work and the premium cuts could stand to be a little more generous for $53. But you don't need five stars to be the best in a category, you just need to be better than everyone else currently in it. Right now Kinoya is better than Sushi Katsu, Chubby Fish, and Umai-Ya, and it's not particularly close. Four stars, reigning champ of Denver AYCE sushi, with real room to close the gap on the rest. Would come back.
