Our art class arranged a tour with Claire and the museum, and it was an absolute blast! Our tour viewed over 300 paintings from the West, inspired by the West, and we learned so much! Standing in front of giant Bierstads, Hills, Okeefes, and many more is just amazing. So interactive! We stayed the afternoon to sketch our favs. This is a unique place in the world! I’m grateful to have it open to the public.

Incredible art. The staff was extremely droll. I don't think I fit their ideal standard of guest. No pictures of the exhibits allowed. They had security babysitting that. Antique plumbing in the bathroom.

If you’re interested in Western art, this is one of the best collections you will find, even compared to the Met in NY. Bierstadt, Remington, Georgia O'Keeffe, to name a few of the artists displayed. Admission was $5 and the staff were really great. I spent 4 hours but you could easily go quicker and see most in 1.5-2 hours. It’s not stuffy at all like other comments mention - they just have one rule of no pictures, which many museums have, and actually adds to the experience. Bought ticket beforehand online but you can also buy at entrance. Check hours before you arrive. Would recommend for those interested in Western Art.

I really loved this museum. It’s not so large that you feel you don’t have time to see everything. It was $5 for a self-guided tour and I really loved the narration. I had no issues whatsoever with the staff. The paintings were incredible and I left with a lot of curiosity and a desire to find out more about my favorite works from inside. I highly recommend this place. If you feel overwhelmed by larger museums, like a slower pace and quieter building, like history and western art then this is the perfect place to visit. Also cool that the building used to be home to a brothel that was attached to the hotel via tunnel.
