This is the place to go if you like exceptionally high-quality cocktails that are genuinely unique and interesting. The bartenders all seem to have a deep understanding of how to blend various flavors to create a tasty drink with any notes you want. The decor is also really fun. A beautiful speakeasy vibe. Do note that (in my opinion) this is really a place for high end cocktails. If you are looking for just a quick beer or something, you may want to consider other options.

This place is such a hidden gem! It’s got a cool speakeasy vibe inside and is a great place to grab drinks. I’m not a big drinker, so I really appreciate their extensive mocktail menu. Shoutout to Kaitlyn (I hope I’m remembering her name correctly, I’m terrible with names), the bartender who created the mocktail menu — hands-down the best zero-proof selection I’ve seen at a bar.

Wanted a nightcap close to home, so opted for this place. Description sounded cool and I’m all about a hidden door and speakeasy vibe. Arrived an hour before closing just to order one drink. Was told it was last call as soon as I walked in, which seemed odd with an hour to go but I get it, I guess. I’m a Libra - I can get along with basically anyone. This bartender was pretty attentive to the other folks there seated at the bar, but I felt like a ghost! *crickets* After waiting for about 15 mins, I got the bartender’s attention (there were literally 4 other patrons at the bar, not too much for her to handle!) and placed an order for my drink. And then another, I’d say, 10 mins before the drink arrived. I was immediately given a bill and asked for payment when the drink arrived. However, I saw her not bill the others at the bar until about 15 more mins had passed, even tho they ordered before me. Additionally, she had already chosen the 22% gratuity button on the card reader. She also turned away at least 3 other patrons that tried to enter the bar with at least 30 mins to go. Just a real bummer… expected more from this place, in the least, a little friendliness and a cocktail.

As someone who goes out to downtown Golden a lot, I was super excited to try this new place out. I found the alchemy online when looking for a live music spot and had a friend visiting from out of town on Saturday 10/25. We had just came from a long hike and were still deciding if we were in the mood to drink, but wanted to stop by to check out the menu anyways. I am also a server and would never want to take up a table if we didn’t plan on ordering anything, but our group was still deciding. We were greeted by an older woman server with black hair and a updo, she immediately asked for ID’s without introducing herself or the restaurant, but I didn’t think anything of it. As she was checking ID’s I called her over to let her know we were still deciding if we were going to drink and stopped in for music. Before I could say anything else and let her know we wouldn’t take her table if we decided not to order anything, she states “well…. you’re going to have to purchase as least something” in a very aggressive and abrasive tone. I was caught off guard and just told her we would leave. She says “fine” and storms off. When talking with my friends at the table they decided the drinks looked delicious, the ambiance was fun, the band was great, and they wanted to stay. When I looked over to find the bartender again, I notice she is talking with another bartender behind the bar and staring at us with a nasty look. I told my friends it seemed too uncomfortable to stay and we decided to leave. I hate to leave a bad review for a new place that seems like a great spot, but I was just so thrown off by the nasty, unwelcoming and blatantly rude customer service by our server. Again, I work in the industry so I completely understand being busy and frustrated that a table is claiming they may not order, but the manner she communicated that was completely unprofessional and unkind when I was only trying to be upfront. I do not believe I will be back unfortunately.
