Alto Gallery is one of the key tenants at the new RiNo Art Park. It is located next to the Bob Ragland branch of the Denver Public Library, sharing space with one of RedLine Contemporary Art Center's Satellite Studio spaces. The gallery was founded in February 2016 and is owned and operated by the nonprofit Birdseed Collective. It began in the Berkeley neighborhood, then moved to the Evans School, and has now found a permanent home in the hallway of RedLine's studio spaces. A gallery is a good use of the hallway space. There's also an overhead door that connects to the adjacent library during business hours. The exhibits here tend to be cutting edge and are often challenging. The quality can be variable, but the latest opening at Alto is always interesting. There are also excellent murals to see on the outside of the buildings.
