How this is written: we run the full set of recent Google reviews through AI to pull out what guests consistently say — including the complaints, which is why there's a downsides list rather than only the good bits. It's rewritten as new reviews come in, so it describes the hotel as it is now, not as it was whenever someone last got round to writing a paragraph about it. Read the reviews yourself on Google Maps.

Very moving piece. One of the totem poles has the census figures for the tribes around 1890. What was interesting is that the artist has chosen not to round the figures, which would be totally normal for numbers in the thousands. But in refusing to round away any digits, you get the sense that they refuse to erase anyone, every single digit represents a cherished life. Kind of made me cry.
