Things to Know
Kimpton Hotel Monaco Denver excels with its prime downtown location, spacious rooms, and genuinely helpful staff, but WiFi reliability and aging infrastructure can frustrate guests paying premium rates. Known for: spacious downtown rooms with hit-or-miss tech.
Spacious, comfortable rooms with stylish decor that feel upscale and well-maintained Prime downtown location with walkable access to attractions and restaurants Exceptional staff—from quick valet service to personal gestures like helping guests with bike troubles Complimentary breakfast (for IHG Diamond members) featuring quality dishes and a daily coffee/tea bar Thoughtful lobby amenities including puzzles, seating areas, and complimentary bike rentals
WiFi is extremely unreliable and slow, making it unsuitable for remote work despite a dedicated support line Parking costs over $60/night, and one valet incident involved a car smelling strongly of marijuana Rooms feel dated with worn headboards and aging furnishings that don't match the price point Housekeeping is inconsistent and requires reminders to the front desk Hotel doesn't accept cash, making it difficult to tip staff or get change Black mold spotted in at least one shower, raising cleanliness concerns Daily property fees are opaque, and promised amenities like free water sometimes aren't stocked
Uptown is a great base for exploring Denver. It's known for its walkable streets, local restaurants, and access to the rest of the city.

Stayed here for a week during a work trip to Denver, and while the location is excellent for downtown access, the overall experience was disappointing for the price point. Check-in was smooth, and I appreciated that the hotel offers a happy hour and nightcap, though unfortunately I couldn’t take advantage of them because of my work schedule. The biggest issue was the WiFi. Since I was splitting time between working from the office and remotely from the hotel, reliable internet was essential. The connection was extremely slow throughout my stay, to the point where even basic browsing struggled. The hotel even has a dedicated internet support button on the room phone, but support was limited to resetting the router, which never solved the problem. I eventually had to work from nearby cafés instead, which was frustrating for a business stay. The room itself also felt dated. The headboard looked worn out and gave off more of a budget motel vibe than a hotel in this price range. Housekeeping was inconsistent as well. Service only happened after reminders to the front desk, and even then it lasted just a few minutes. Towels and glasses were sometimes not replaced. One positive was the onsite restaurant. The food was good, although the menu could use more variety. Like everything else at the hotel, it was also fairly expensive. Overall, I regret booking this hotel for a 7-night stay. For the price, there are likely much better options in downtown Denver.

Incredible hotel in the heart of downtown Denver! Location is great and tons of things are walkable which I prefer in weekend visits. The breakfast was amazing, super great service and very delicious and well prepared dishes. Having it be complimentary as a diamond IHG member almost feels too good to be true. We didn’t try the restaurant for lunch or dinner but I bet it would be a very nice experience. The lobby has a ton of really nice space and places to sit. We had a great time one morning doing a jigsaw puzzle, it was so fun. There is a nice coffee/tea/hot chocolate bar every morning and through the day. The room was really spacious, comfy, and stylish. We just loved it here. My only suggestion for improvement would be the TV’s, they just didn’t work well and the remotes were junky and frustrating. This could be a simple upgrade these days.

Hotel is in a perfect location to explore downtown Denver. Like many people have mentioned, the rooms are spacious and very comfortable. They especially have excellent staff members. We used their free bikes and had a flat on our ride. Jessica, the receptionist, was quick to help us out and had Alan, their maintenance/mechanic, pick us up in his personal vehicle to help us during a moment of need. Super friendly, and very apologetic about the whole ordeal. I would definitely stay here again.

My wife had a great stay at Kimpton Hotel Monaco Denver. Check-in and checkout were seamless, the valet was extremely quick, and the staff was kind, helpful, and easy to work with throughout the visit. She also appreciated the La Colombe coffee — nice touch. Overall, very smooth and comfortable experience. Would definitely stay here again.
Why Stay in Uptown
17th Avenue between downtown and City Park is one of the most underrated dining corridors in Denver. Uptown has been quietly great for years without making a big deal about it.
