  • Park rangers enforce rules inconsistently and without clear signage, citing some visitors while ignoring others breaking the same rule
  • Denver 311 customer service is difficult to navigate, with reports of staff avoiding survey completion and poor call transfers
  • Facility rental policies prevent residents from using publicly-funded spaces they already pay for through taxes

I can't even begin to describe my absolute disgust I feel to see a government agency give the boot to one of the most successful boat and bike vendors at Wash park just so they can take over the buisness and steal the profit. Anything for a buck huh. Please remember, karma exist and I hope your buisness is never as successful. You've taken all the good out and continue to do so without the consideration of the public. DISGUSTING

Denver Parks has done an exceptional job addressing infestations of the mountain pine beetle. As homeowners, we contacted the Denver Parks Forestry Division regarding infested trees near our neighborhood, and Coleman responded within hours. Not only did Coleman reach out to us, but he also traveled over an hour to our neighborhood to address the situation and had the infected trees removed. This was especially impressive considering the overwhelming beetle epidemic we are facing. Thank you, Denver Parks, for your hard work and remarkable leadership; we truly appreciate it!

Any budget deficits that the city is met with seem to be resolved by taking money away from park maintenance budgets. As a result, bridges are closed indefinitely; garbages are overflowing, homeless encampments take over, and all that is left is the begrudging receptionists at Denver 311 who are prepared to die on that hill. After discussing my concerns and concluding the call, I was notified of a “one question survey” at the end of the call. Instead of allowing me to complete the survey, they breathed heavily on the phone for several minutes pretending they weren’t there - likely hoping I would hang up… They never did allow me to complete the survey because they transferred me to a random number after I confirmed I could hear their breathing. If you want some good recreation parks, my suggestion would be to travel outside Denver county. If you want to discuss your concerns, your best bet is to pay them a visit in person so that you may avoid 311 all together.

Terrible organization with even worse park rangers. The entitlement they act with is unreal. Received a citation because I was not on trail with my dog even though there was clearly a well worn walking path. No signs or posting indicating trail was off limits either, while I was receiving my citation two other people walked by on the same exact path and the rangers said absolutely nothing to them. Ridiculous.
