Adelitas Cocina Y Cantina Edgewater

We came in during happy hour. We ordered house margs, the chips and salsa trio, the queso fundido with corn tortillas, and cheese enchiladas with red sauce. The food came out surprisingly fast which can be a good thing but also a red flag. The salsas were all watery and thin. The queso tasted like canned cheese sauce and solidified within minutes despite our efforts to eat it quickly. Eating the enchiladas was like eating salty, solid blocks of cheese covered in the thinnest, oiliest tortillas. Nothing was downright terrible but it wasn’t good. We don’t plan to come back.

This location of Adelitas doesn’t have that grit vibe of the Broadway location so depending on your preference, you may love this spot or not. The food was excellent, particularly the carne asada. The service was great-engaged but not intrusive. The atmosphere feels like a lot of Denver restaurants where the modern aesthetic with its elevated atmosphere has replaced that authentic, original Western gritty vibe. The good news is you can still choose either one!

Their carne asada plate and the tres leches cake are always my go to. Their red mole is not my favorite so I recommend skipping it.

This was my first time here and I was very very impressed with the quality of the food! Great taste good amount and amazing staff. Rob took great care of us! Highly recommend the camarones a la diabla if you like shrimp and spice! Taste is on point! Only thing is you have request a side tortillas but even those are delicious! The coco morado is refreshing! Good drink for summer! I will definitely return for some good authentic Mexican food with a great atmosphere!!
