We came to Tamayo to celebrate our engagement, and the entire experience felt incredibly special from start to finish. As someone who is Mexican, it’s honestly hard to find restaurants that feel true to flavor and not just Tex-Mex, and this restaurant absolutely delivered. The food was authentic, thoughtfully prepared, and full of depth. Every dish honored real Mexican flavors while still feeling refined and elevated. The drinks were impeccable. Smooth, well-balanced, and clearly crafted with intention not just another butchered cocktail, which can honestly be hit or miss in Denver. From the moment we walked in, the space felt intentional and beautiful with resort-like, neutral, luxurious vibes without feeling pretentious. Our server Alex was so attentive, kind, and sweet, and Assistant Manager Scott went above and beyond to make sure our celebration felt cared for. Their warmth truly made the night unforgettable. I dine out often in Denver and love trying new restaurants, and this one truly hit it out of the park. We will absolutely be back and can’t recommend it enough. 💛

We tried the bottomless menu, which was a nice way to sample all the dishes. The food was good overall, though some items needed seasoning—no salt, pepper, or sauces were offered, and the chicken was dry. Dessert was the highlight and very tasty. The service wasn’t that great either. Also, double-check your bill; ours initially came overcharged.

Tamayo continues to be one of those places that reminds you why classics exist. The ribeye fajitas were the standout. Served sizzling, perfectly cooked, and paired with all the right sides so you can build each bite to your liking. Everything tasted fresh and well seasoned, and the tortillas were exactly what they should be. One thing I really appreciated was the mocktail program. We had only non alcoholic drinks and they were thoughtful, well balanced, and satisfying. It never felt like a downgrade from a cocktail, and I loved leaving dinner feeling good instead of sluggish. Between the food, the atmosphere, and the drinks, Tamayo delivers a polished but approachable experience. It’s a great option for a downtown dinner that still feels fun and indulgent without being over the top.

Stopped for a mid-afternoon bite & was alerted that they had a very limited menu until dinner. We stayed, it was loud in back as a large group was wrapping up a brunch party. We ordered guacamole & empanadas. Both were good. Service was excellent.
