Our first time visiting Water Grill was on Valentine’s Day for their Valentine’s Day Menu (priced at $135 per person). Unfortunately our experience was not the greatest though I try to give some grace considering it was a busy night. However, I feel the restaurant could’ve better prepared knowing it was a holiday. Our reservation was for 5:45pm, we were not seated until about 6:15pm. The evening ended at about 8:10pm (and that was with us having to rush dessert as we needed to be somewhere at 8pm). The bread and butter were DELICIOUS, the oysters were great, our entrees were also pretty good. None of our food tasted bad per se. It just wasn’t anything that mind blowing either. The presentation was very mediocre. We also ordered 2 additional sides with our entrees for an extra $12-$15 each. The worst part of the evening was definitely the pacing of our courses. We waited a good 20-30 minutes for each course to come out. By the time we got our entrees we couldn’t quite enjoy it as we were stressing out about needing to leave for our next scheduled event. We had to ask our waiter to bring out dessert ASAP as we needed to head out. Overall, the food was decent. But I think the price we paid for everything was not worth the quality, presentation, and service we received.

Great restaurant! Surprised to see that it was half full on a Friday night. Service was prompt and not overwhelming. The ambiance is awesome. You can tell a lot went into the build of this restaurant. I went with the miso cod that our server recommended. We enjoyed the sourdough bread that came out before our meal. The calamari appetizer was a hit. The raw bar menu looked great however we didn’t go for it this time around. Parking was fairly easy downtown with a free street spot available nearby. There’s also paid garages nearby. We hopped over to Oscar Blues next door for a night cap. Fun night!

Inviting, semi upscale vibe and contemporary decor. Our server was very attentive. We came in for the 4-course dinner on Valentine’s Day. Hubby and I picked diff options on each course so we got to try more dishes! First course: -Jumbo Lump Crab Cake was okay -Nantucker Bay Scallop Crudo (added Uni) was so good and fresh. Second course: -Clam Chowder was flavorful -Roasted Beet Salad with Yogurt dressing was really refreshing Third course: -Wild Ross Sea Chilean Sea Bass was absolutely delicious -Double R Ranch Filet Mignon was tender and juicy. Dessert: -Maple Cheese Cake -Chocolate Espresso Ganache Cake Delicious food and good quality, it was good value as the portion was decent.

Best seafood restaurant in Denver and worth the trip! My extended family is from New England and we have dined at restaurants all over the world (including many Michelin rated), so I have a VERY high bar when it comes to seafood restaurants and Water Grill has been the best seafood dining experience I can find in the Rocky Mountain region, hands down. The restaurant is welcoming and perfectly appointed with beautiful decor, creating perfect ambience and atmosphere. We ordered the clam chowder to start, which was excellent and came topped with several freshly cooked clams. My daughter ordered a lobster roll, which was one of the best we have had (and we have eaten plenty at Maine lobster pounds). I had the Chilean Sea Bass with browned butter and butternut squash gnocchi. Perfectly seared and delicately delicious! We also tried the king salmon roll, which was also fantastic. My husband tried the Visionary old fashioned drink and said it was the best he has had anywhere - loved the complexity and presentation! They made my daughter an alcohol-free version of another drink that was also fantastic. The key lime pie was well balanced, decadent and came with a delightful crust made with graham crackers and oats. The food is legit and made from scratch here. Last but not least, the service was impeccable and the team went above and beyond to ensure we had a great meal. Carson showed us the tanks for the lobsters (Maine and Spiny) and crabs (King and Dungeness) in the kitchen and David provided exceptional service and anticipated our every need. In a post-pandemic world, it’s more difficult to find a place where you feel like the money spent is worth it, and Water Grill delivered and exceeded my hopes and expectations. Make a trip to Denver to dine here…it’s a destination of its own!
