Visited: 30/06/2023 We didn't have long in Denver so walked around all the statues in the city, which is super fun. Cowboy in Pajamas was a surprise as we only read the title so we figured it was going to be a mural but it's a huge statue instead. Definitely in-line with weird and wonderful, but an interesting piece to come across while walking about finding sculptures.

Sean O’Meallie is the artist that made this 20 foot tall bronze sculpture. It has been here outside the Residence Inn since 2008. I love this piece and was surprised to read that some folks don't. Probably shouldn't have been surprised, of course. Art either speaks to you, or it doesn't. To me, this sculpture is a total delight. It kinda reminds me of Yosemite Sam, but from a Toy Story perspective. Could also be kind of a commentary on the mythology embodied in the Hollywood version of the history of the American West. I highly recommend at least a drive by visit. Together with "I See What You Mean," this is one of my favorite public art installations in beautiful Denver.
